Arte de Lágrimas

Showroom

A virtual showroom that is much more than a collection of drawings or pieces of art from refugees and asylum seekers.

Volunteer: What is it?
Angel: Can't you see? It's the universe.
Volunteer: Oh cool! Why do you like it?
Angel: There are no borders there.

Refuge.

In this exhibition, we explore works that express the safety of refuge upon arriving in the United States of America and places of refuge back at home.

Sacred.

In this exhibition, we explore works that express the sacred worth of our individual lives and the things we see as sacred.

Lucia is a mother traveling with her son from Honduras.
This is written testimony of her journey and gratitude:
“I give thanks to my God to be in this place. May God bless every one who is in this place and who arrive here. I am a migrating person who has fought to be where I am here today. I left my country Honduras on July 13th and entered the USA August 14th, 2015. One suffers, but life requires a sacrifice. But thanks to my God all turned out well. Thank you for everything. It is much appreciated.
May God bless you.”
